St. Patrick's Day is a huge celebration in Chicago. When the river turns green, the Irish celebration is in full force. Luckily many Chicago area restaurants are ready to roll out the green carpet with St. Patrick's Day specials.
Here are a few restaurant specials that will have everyone celebrating the Irish.
Back by popular demand, Da Lobsta will be featuring its delicious St. Patty’s Day Roll on March 17 only at both Chicago-area Da Lobsta locations, 12 E. Cedar and at the Chicago French Market, 131 N. Clinton. The roll features lobster and corned beef, topped with a spicy picked relish.
Bites Asian Tapas
The Asian fusion restaurant is putting its spin on a few green tapas. Featured for St. Patrick's Day are the following dishes: the Spinach Cheese Stick with cream cheese, cilantro, green chilies, and water chestnut wrapped in spring roll dough; Avocado Tempura Bun with pickled vegetables, cucumber, avocado tempura, scallion, honey wasabi and teriyaki sauce; or Green Gyoza, edamame, carrot, green pea, potatoes, caramelized whiskey and wasabi cream. Cap off the meal with dessert of Asian Churros served with green tea ice cream
The restaurant known for its gourmet burgers is raising its game for St. Patrick's Day. The special St. Patrick's sandwich treat is the hefty Corned Beef Sandwich with Swiss cheese, homemade potato chips, lettuce, tomato and onion. Don't forget to end the meal with a sweet treat. Big Chef Burgers' St. Patrick's "adult" shake. It's made with vanilla ice cream and milk, a wee bit of green coloring and 1 oz. Jameson Whiskey.
The Chef Cid of the Naperville location has cooked up some St. Patrick's Day specials. For the Irish holiday the restaurant will be serving up these special dishes. Corned Beef Egg Rolls - Shredded corned beef, sauerkraut, smoked gouda cheese and topped with a Dijon Mustard Sauce; Corned Beef Sliders - Corned beef and sauerkraut topped with swiss cheese and 1000 island dressing served on a rye bun; and Fish Sandwich - Beer battered cod topped with chipotle tartar sauce and served on a marble rye bread.
