The Chicago Photography Collective (CPC) is concluding its residency at its Block 37 gallery after a successful twenty-month run. The CPC is a group of over 30 established photographers whose methods and subject matter run the photographic gamut: digital and film, inkjet and silver prints, black & white and color, portraits, street photography, abstracts and documentary.
The collective began hosting photo exhibits at the gallery, located at 108 N. State, in May 2011 as part of the Pop-Up Art Loop initiative of the Chicago Loop Alliance. Averaging one show per month during their residency, the collective was able to host numerous group, two-person and themed shows as well as gallery talks – all free and open to the public.
The collective is very appreciative of the generous support of the Chicago Loop Alliance and to Lou Raizin in particular for giving us opportunity to show our work at the current space and at our previous gallery at 29 E. Madison Street.
The collective is also thankful to supporters of the art form of photography and passers-by who have visited the gallery and taken an interest in our exhibition series.
