Chicago Pet Show is a benefit as well as a means for pet parents

Hope you are prepared to attend because this weekend is the Chicago Pet Show. The Show will be taking place at the Darien Sportsplex on Saturday, September 6th and Sunday September 7th. Besides all of the great animals and animal products that will be present, 50% of all ticket proceeds go back to the rescues and shelters that will participate.

Chicago Pet Show 2014 is Saturday, September 6th and Sunday, September 7th.
Chicago Pet Show, Inc.

Peggy Rug and her staff have been preparing for this event practically since last year’s event, but after 200 consumer event shows, they practically have it down to a science. So you just have to visit!

The event this weekend is located at 451 Plainfield Road in Darien, Illinois at the Darien Sportsplex (between Cass Avenue and Highway 83 on 75th Street in Darien). Get there early to get the best parking!

Since 60% of American households have a pet (that is equivalent to 72 million homes!), people are always looking for the latest greatest supplies – and perhaps even a new pet or two if they don’t have a pet or if they have recently lost a pet. This is the place to find everything you are looking for.

Of all the 45 million dogs and the 38 million cats, only 38% will be kept long term. The Chicago Pet Show wants to see that percentage increase, so they are hosting the Show in order to help potential forever home parents learn about ulterior methods of caring for their pet in all types of situations. As an example, they can learn about doggie daycares, proper nutrition, holistic foods and supplies (for example U.S. Bones) as well as various doggie waste cleanup services that are available for differing package rates. There will be everything to make being a dog parent easier so that those that are dog parents remain dog parents.

As a means to an end for animals in shelter and rescue situations, the Chicago Pet Show wants to assist the various organizations by promoting pet adoptions and/or fostering rather than buying. Their goal is to gain 100 applicants for adoption and/or fostering for the organizations that will be present. Those organizations include: Greater Chicago Cavalier Rescue, S.T.R.A.E.S. Shih Tzu Rescue, Adoptabull English Bulldog Rescue, Collie Rescue of Greater Illinois and Forever Friends Great Dane Rescue as well as at least three feline rescues.

As a benefit to attendees, those that produce discount coupons obtained from their favorite animal rescue will get a $1 discount at the door. The remaining entrance fees will be split between rescues and the Show.

To top off the show, Paul Lee of Paul Lee Magic will perform, various speakers and seminars will be available to attend and Jim Nesci’s Cold Blooded Creatures will be there in full force; even Bubby his 8’ alligator! There will be something for everyone in the family to enjoy!

The cost is $7 for adults, free to kids 18 and younger if they are with their parent and for Senior Citizens 65 or older. Remember to stop by your favorite participating rescue or shelter and get the discount coupon which would make the entrance fee only $6. Parking is free but limited.

This is one show you will not want to miss! Plan ahead today to attend this weekend.
