Anand Bhatt is famous for both his music and his acting. He is recognized worldwide as a solo artist, frontman of hardcore band Anand Clique, and a major TV and movie personality. He is the first Indian-American to be inducted into the Latin Grammys as a voting member.
According to Anand, a friend described his music style as “Latindian.” It is a fusion of Latin and Indian cultures. Anand was able to blend the sounds easily; because the cultures are so similar. A Chicago native, Anand is no stranger to diversity. He pointed out that even though the neighborhoods are segregated, it is common for different cultures to mix and mingle. While he gets some inspiration from other artists, Anands major inspiration is “girls.” He says “You girls can love a guy in amazing ways.”
To Anand, the GRAMMYs is the best concert all year. He also enjoys the red carpet experience with meeting the media and other celebrities. This year he is looking forward to new music getting more attention. Traditionally, the “top 40” dominate the GRAMMYs. Since there is so much new music that came out in 2012, Anand is curious to see if they will get more recognition.
His advice to up and coming artists is not to set the bar too low. Sometimes artist are just looking to be popular and be on television. He challenges musicians to use their influence to make an impact and work more with charities and worthy causes.
Anand will be releasing 2 new albums right before the GRAMMYs. One is in English, and is called Fun. One is in Spanish and is called Sonidos y Sonrisas (Sounds and Smiles) Anand will appear on LIFE! byDesign Media on Intellectual Radio on February 9, 2013 at 11 a.m. CST.
