Austin, Texas will be the destination for many Chicago based musician in March. The SXSW (South by Southwest) music festival will be held March 8-17. Debuting in 1987 SXSW brings together musicians, fans, musical instrument makers and booking agents.

In 2012 Kids These Days, In Tall Buildings, Mike Musikanto, Hollywood Holt, The Waco Brothers, Outer Minds, Cains & Abels, Redgrave, Unicycle Loves You, Football and Paper Thick Walls made the trip from Chicago to Austin. Their sendoff party was held at The Hideout, 1354 W. Wabansia, Chicago.
