Andres F. Duran, 29, of Chicago, IL allegedly stabbed his sister's 4 year old German Shepherd, named "Diesel" to death and then attempted to dispose of his body in a suitcase. Duran is being charged with aggravated cruelty to animals and animal torture.
According to court records and The Chicago Tribune, Duran stabbed Diesel multiple times claiming the dog just wouldn't die quick enough, “I stabbed Diesel in the side and he was not dying fast enough so I stabbed him in the neck. Diesel bit me on the right arm.”
After killing the dog, he attempted to clean up the blood and wrap the dog's body in a blanket. The blanket and dog were then shoved into a large suitcase and placed outside by his garage. Duran's sister eventually found her deceased dog in the suitcase, in the backyard of Duran's home on the 4300 block of North Mobile Avenue.
Police reports indicate that when Duran was arrested, he was carrying a high school ID card, a jury summons, and a case of Chinese throwing stars. Cook County Judge Adam Bourgeois Jr. ordered Duran be held on $150,000 bail, and he is now facing felony charges.
