Chicago families interested in free crafts for kids can visit Chicagoland Lakeshore Learning stores on Saturdays in the month of September 2009 for a series of creative free activities.

The free craft activities are suitable for children ages 3 and up. Each event will take place on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Free crafts for kids in September 2009

On Saturday, September 5, Chicago children can visit Lakeshore Learning stores to make a Celebration Cake, a decorative handmade centerpiece crafted from materials such as colored craft sticks and foam stickers.

On Saturday, September 12, kids can stop by Lakeshore Learning to make a free Back to School craft – a cute Pencil Holder Pal made from art supplies like a paper cup, colored chenille stems, pom poms, and googly eyes.

On Saturday, September 19, families can come to Lakeshore Learning to explore the art of collage-making and design and construct an Under-the-Sea Pop-up Collage from colored paper, colored shells, and colored tissue paper.

On Saturday, September 26, parents and children can stop by Lakeshore Learning to make Wacky Wild Bird instruments – craft birds decorated with colorful feathers and wiggly eyes with jingle bells inside to transform the birds into fun instrument shakers.
