As spring (slowly!) takes hold of Chicago and temperatures outside rise, kids can benefit from simple classic toys that encourage outdoor fun. Motivate kids to get moving outside by filling children's Easter baskets with an assortment of reasonably priced, quality small outdoor toys that inspire active play.
Find classic, outdoor toys at Chicago toy stores
Parents can visit local stores such as Timeless Toys and Toys et Cetera (in the city), Geppetto's Toy Box (in Oak Park), and Tree Top Kids (in Hinsdale) to search for classic outdoor toys such as jump ropes, wooden tops, small balls, jacks, bags of marbles, and wooden skittles bowling games.
Local Lakeshore Learning stores stock educational outdoor toys for active play such as brightly colored balls and scarves, parachute kits, a variety of educational beanbag sets, and a balancing ball game.
Larger local retailers stock classic and outdoor toys as well.
