On Thursday evening, June 9th, Chicago Fashion Connect will host its very first fashion industry mixer! This networking opportunity is intended for all fashion designers, makeup artists, hair stylists, photographers, models, entrepreneurs and even the media who may wish to cover this exciting industry. It will take place at Bridge Bar at Fulton’s on the River from 6:00-9:00PM (315 N. Lasalle St. Chicago, IL). Cost to attend will be $35 and the event will not have a set agenda other than an open bar and hors d’oeuvres from 6:00-7:00PM.
Chicago Fashion Connection is led by Rey Raven Mihai, whom I recently had the opportunity to speak with. She pointed out to me that Chicago is missing a definitive event for professionals in the fashion industry. This was a very surprising fact, since Chicago has a global reputation for boutiques and distinctive shopping locations such as the Magnificent Mile. Professionals in this field have no regular opportunity to connect and share ideas, but Chicago Fashion Connection will be the place to meet on a regular basis. Help make this event a success by planning to attend after work.
The event is hosted in the very popular mixer format; employed by other successful networking organizations such as BNC, Network After Work and Chicago Professional Connexion. These events tend to be well received by all who attend, and will be interesting for anyone looking to do something different with their social life.
There is still time to RSVP for the event! Follow this link: http://fashionmixer-jun2011-ej.eventbrite.com. If you have questions, I recommend that you contact Raven at the email address firstname.lastname@example.org. I am excited to see what Chicago has to say about a fashion specific event; leave comments below and let your voice be heard!
