Chicago crime: Obama's Olympic failure tied to 'Windy City' violence

While the American people -- especially the citizens who call Chicago their home -- are disappointed that the elite team of President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, and talk show guru Oprah Winfrey returned home without the gold, perhaps the Olympic Committee weren't eager to hold the 2016 Olympic Games in the Windy City, in part, because of that city's out-of-control crime rate.

Chicago's violent crime rate is one of the highest in the nation.

While the median violent crime rate for the United States in 2008 -- the last year for which statistics were released by the Federal Bureau of Investigation -- was 4.7 percent, Chicago's median rate was 12.12 percent.

In addition, the United States overall experienced 49.6 crimes per square mile, but Chicago witnessed 766 crimes per square mile.

President Obama's beloved city doesn't fare much better in offenses listed as "property crimes." While the national median was 34.3, Chicago's was 48.82.

Chicago has an overall crime rate of 61 per one thousand residents making it a city with one of the highest crime rates in America compared to all communities of all sizes. With a population considerably smaller than New York, Chicago's violent and property crime rate dwarfs the Big Apple.

When Chicago is compared to other cities of similar population, the Chicago crime rate (violent and property crimes combined) is quite a bit higher. The crime data that is used for this analysis are the seven index offenses from the uniform crime reports collected annually by the FBI from 17,000 local law enforcement agencies, and include both violent and property crimes combined.

"While most US cities have achieved lower crime rates, Chicago continues to be a major hub for gangs, murderers, rapists and other bad guys," said former NYPD Detective Sid Frances.

"Look at New York. In 1991, we had more than 2,200 homicides. Last year, New York had less than 500. Yet, Chicago is actually witnessing increases in murder and other serious crimes," he said.

Just recently, this writer reported on three members of the violent gang known as the Almighty Latin King and Queen Nation who were sentenced for their participation in narcotics and weapons trafficking, according to a report submitted to the National Association of Chiefs of Police.

During part of the time of the criminal conspiracy, the defendant Hiluterio Chavez conspired with others to deal in firearms. Chavez admitted that he organized, managed, and arranged for the acquisition of firearms throughout the Northern District of Texas, and that he would transport firearms within the Northern District of Texas to Chicago. Court documents filed in the case indicate that the all of the co-defendants illegally transported and trafficked the firearms throughout Texas with the intent to transport them to the Chicago area.

And it isn't only gangs who plague Chicago. A group obsessed with creating a Caliphate based on Muslim religious law -- Sharia Law -- in the United States and other nations held their first US conference in Chicago over the Summer.

According to Diane Macedo, news writer for FoxNews.com, the group -- Hizb ut-Tahrir -- is a global Sunni network with reported ties to confessed 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed of Al Qaeda and Iraq's onetime terrorist leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. It has operated discreetly in the U.S. for decades, wrote Macedo.

The conference was titled, "The Fall of Capitalism and the Rise of Islam," and was held at the Hilton Hotel in Chicago. The shocking part of this story is that the majority of US lawmakers are silent about this gathering of avowed enemies of the US Constitution and American values, yet they loudly voiced their outrage over a CIA proposal to "terminate" terrorist leaders overseas.

The Obama Administration and most of the news media are remaining silent regarding this terrorist gathering and the US Department of Justice under Attorney General Eric Holder is busy investigating US intelligence officers and strategists.

Crime, violence, political corruption -- if you were in charge of the Olympic Committee, would you vote to bring the games to Chicago?

Wow. All of those statistics speak volumes about the deterioration of the Uber-liberalisms. Seems as though only the crimminals have guns there. Maybe the IOC hates Chicago for its 'freedoms.' As for the terrorists' convention, they must have been invited. Thanks Chicago.

Brasil only has 8,000 murders a year. That's way lower than Chicago.
