4:00 pm ♦ National Drink Beer Day at HQ Beercade
Headquarters Beercade, 950 W. Wolfram, Chicago (773) 665-5660
In celebration of Drink Beer Day today (yes, this is real), Headquarters is hosting the local launch of Tallgrass Brewing’s Zombie Monkie. The brew is billed as a “post-apocalyptic porter,” so we’re commemorating the event with zombie makeup and a LOT of beer. Zombie Monkie is brewed with a chocolatey combination of roasted and kilned malts. This gives the beer a full body with lots of chocolate and espresso-like flavors. Bravo, Willamette, and Nugget hops add hints of floral and citrus to finish off this complex porter. The festivities start at 4 p.m., but we recommend getting there before the undead rise up and steal your free drink.
This week Headquarters Beercade is launching a very special giveaway in honor of 365 days of HQ, a.k.a. our first birthday. To celebrate, we’re giving back to the fans, by choosing one lucky winner on October 11th to take home the game of their choice from the Beercade or Pincade. With over $100,000 worth of games on the floor – the options are nearly endless. Head on over to the Headquarters Facebook page for all the details and get ready to #GameOn.
