With Chicago Craft beer Week starting Thursday, I actually have to take a sort of break to work on other projects. But to any of our new, small local brewers, I would like to do an article organizing events by brewer so people can "pop the crown" on your beers. Meantime, a very up-to-date event list is being maintained at ChiBeerWeek.com.

Monday, May 12

We're teaming up with the Boston Beer Company for a seven course beer dinner, each course paired with a craft beer from the Sam Adams portfolio. While we’re leading off with their mainstay, Boston Lager, we’re relying heavily on the rest of their ‘craft focused’ lineup to round out the menu, including Tasman Red IPA, Rebel IPA, Grumpy Monk Belgian IPA, Porch Rocker Radler, Honey Queen Braggot, Roggen Wolf Rye IPA and Blueberry Hill Lager.

eservations are required. The cost of the dinner is $60 per person plus tax and gratuity. There is a ‘no beer’ option for $45. The regular menu will not be available.

Three Floyds Permanent Funeral DIPA: The wolf inside this pale ale is trying to walk upright. This bright and aromatic beer was brewed with our friends in the band Pig Destroyer.

Join us as we jump the gun on Chicago Craft Beer Week as our friends from Revolution Brewing take over 13 or of our taps with an amazing array of rare, vintage, cellared, barrel-aged, and seasonal releases. It's truly an amazing line-up you'll find no where else in Chicagoland! Here's the line-up so far, with last minute additions possible: Horizontal Tango, TV Party, Jukebox Hero, Galaxy Hero, Rise, Rosa, Gravedigger Billy, 3rd Year Beer, 4th Year Beer, Deth's Tar, Very Mad Cow, Straight Jacket, Bean Gene.

Kick off Chicago Craft Beer Week a day early with The Bar on Buena’s salute to Half Acre! $4 pints of Half Acre Pony Pils will be available during CCBW, but at this event, The BOB will be tapping some extra special Half Acre offerings. Celebrating 25 years, Rogue Ales is an Artisan Varietal Brewery founded in in Oregon in 1988, as one of America's first 50 micro-breweries. Just like a winery, Rogue grows more than a dozen ingredients on farms in Independence and Tygh Valley, John Maier crafts beer of distinction with a proprietary palate of flavors and a known terrior.
$20 for Members and $25 for Non-Members. Tasting includes a complimentary Rogue Stout Glass.

Beer Under Glass is the opening event in Chicago Craft Beer Week, and a benefit for the conservatory's ongoing fund raising to finish repairing its hail damage by replacing the temporary plexiglass with hail-proof tempered glass. General tickets at $40 are sold out, but VIP tickets for $95 are still available here. And because there is still a chance at tickets, here is the brewer list:

7:00 pm ♦ New Belgium Beer Party & Bike Giveaway

This Chicago Craft Beer Week event features a meet-and-greet with Scott Stepina from Colorado’s New Belgium Brewing Company, limited and year-round New Belgium brews, chef Wally Rouse’s beer-spiked specials and logoed giveaways. The Ale House provides a raffle ticket for every New Belgium beer purchased between 7-10 p.m.; one lucky ticket holder will win a New Belgium cruiser bike. Beer Highlights: Summer Helles, Gruit, La Folie Sour Brown Ale, Snapshot Wheat, Fat Tire Amber Ale.
