Hopped Up Broads will be leading the 12 class series, an organization run by Sheffield’s alum Bri Milka and Hattie Young, whose aim is to expose those interested in furthering their knowledge of craft beer.
Bri graduated from Siebel Institute with a brewing certificate. She has been an assistant Brewster for a year and a half. She has also completed her server Cicerone. Bri is also a member of the Pink Boots Society.

Fire Chief Ale is a medium-bodied, auburn colored ale that gets its sweet side from the caramel and crystal malts and has a little toasty character for balance. The hand-selected hops from the Pacific Northwest lend a crisp and refreshing finish. A portion of Fire Chief Ale sales will go to local fire departments and related charities. To go with Fire Chief, Rock Bottom's menu, features “fiery” items like the 3-Alarm Brisket Chili and Campfire Shrimp, through March 30.

Do you love learning about beer while drinking beer? Beerducation is back! Marty Nachel, Author of Beer For Dummies and a BJCP Certified Beer Judge, will be joining us at Crown Brewing for a series of classes. The classes will focus on beers by region. The first class will cover beers from England, Ireland and Scotland. The class will cover beer styles, brewing techniques, history and will include a guided tasting of classic styles and American interpretations of that style. The cost is $20. Chicago Smoke, a seriously smoky German-style rauchbier, and Jukebox Hero, a double dry-hopped black IPA (also available in 22-oz. bottles). Jukebox Hero is the first of our 2014 "Hero" series, which will include Galaxy Hero (April), Crystal Hero (May), and Citra Hero (June).

Meet co-founders Sean Mahoney and Ike Orcutt at this free beer event featuring BuckleDown Brewery, a small-batch craft brewery/taproom that launched in Lyons, Illinois in 2013. Featured beers from head brewer Ike Orcutt include Fiddlesticks Belgian-style IPA, Painted Turtle Extra Pale Ale, Shady Aftermath Robust Porter and Belt & Suspenders American IPA (all $6). Executive chef Wally Rouse prepares BuckleDown beer-spiked specials including Blackened Bacon and Artichoke Beer Dip, Beer-Braised Tortilla Soup, Ale-Brined Fried Chicken and Aftermath Lava Cake (prices vary $2.99-$10.99).

We've brewed 2 collaborations with DryHop Brewers - we'll tap ours at noon, and then run over to tap their version at 6pm!
Our version, brewed here is a straw colored saison brewed like an IPA! hopped and dry-hopped with Centennial and Amarillo. We're following up by brewing one there - same malt and yeast but hopped and dry-hopped with Galaxy and Citra!

Jeff Bridges stars as Jeff Lebowski, an unemployed Los Angeles slacker and avid bowler nicknamed "the Dude." After a case of mistaken identity the Dude is introduced to a millionaire also named Jeffrey Lebowski. When the millionaire Lebowski's trophy wife is later kidnapped he commissions the Dude to deliver the ransom to secure her release.
