6:00 pm ♦ CASSOULET Dinner with SDC at the Half Acre Taproom
Half Acre Beer Company Tap Room, 4257 N Lincoln Ave., Chicago (773) 248-4038
As you know, our taproom is not equipped with a kitchen. Problem is: we love food. Solution: why not ask our friends at Sunday Dinner Club/Honey Butter Fried Chicken to do a "residency" at our taproom. They said "yes." We said "yeay!" And we are happy to announce that the first of many recurrent dinners is going to be held on Monday Feb. 17th. For our maiden residency we have settled on none other than SDC's French-bean-stew-gone-rogue Cassoulet. The cassoulet is served in a big 'ol bowl with extra strong dijon mustard and comes with chocolate mint cookie truffles for dessert -- you also get two pints of any of our beers on tap, plus a 5 oz pour to go with dessert. Price for the combo: a democratic $40 through Brown Paper Tickets.
6:15 pm ♦ 3 Floyds-One Off Beer Dinner
The Publican, 837 W Fulton, Chicago (312) 733-9555
In October of 2012, chefs from nearly all of our properties, including Chef Paul Kahan, partnered with Three Floyds Brewing Company to craft a blended beer specifically designed for their restaurants. To celebrate the fruits of their labor, Chef Paul and chefs from Blackbird, avec, The Publican and Big Star will be hosting a six-course paired dinner at The Publican.
The six-course paired beer dinner, inclusive of a beer on entry and dessert pairing, is $135 per person, plus tax and gratuity. A portion of the proceeds will go to Pilot Light, a nonprofit organization empowering children to make healthy choices by integrating culinary education with school standards, curriculum and culture. Contact email@example.com to reserve a spot.
Here's a bit more information about each brew:

7:00 pm ♦ Ayinger Altbairisch Dunkel Release Party
The Bar on Buena, 910 W. Buena Ave, Chicago, IL
The Bar on Buena, Merchant du Vin, Louis Glunz Beer, Inc. and Ayinger Brewery announce the arrival of Ayinger Altbairisch Dunkel—available for the first time on draft in the US.
Though it has long been available in bottles, guests can be one of the first to taste this authentic Bavarian dark lager on draft. The name of the brew literally translates to “Old Bavarian Dark Beer” and is the most traditional beer in Bavaria. Before light beers were introduced from the big cities, most village beer—like most village bread—was dark, tasty and flavorful. This is no exception as it is pouring dark brown with a sweet aroma and satisfying malty taste with coffee-ish tones and a hint of fruitiness.
This lovely lager will be welcomed to the taps at The BOB and featured as long as supplies last (so get in quick!) For more information, check out the Facebook Event Page.
