Last week the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless received a donation that will go towards working with and helping people who are affected by homelessness.
Apartments.com, a Chicago-based company, had presented the Coalition with a $15,000 check. The check was from the money the company raised with their Facebook campaign “Raising Awareness. Taking Action: A Campaign to Help End Homelessness.”
In the Facebook campaign, Apartments.com vowed to donate $1 to the Coalition for each new “like” its page received from November 1 through December 31, 2011. The campaign was done to raise awareness about homelessness and raise funds for the organization that serves the homeless and advocates for it.
The Facebook page received 6,000 likes, but Apartments.com decided to go above and beyond their promised donation of $1 per like so they could match the giving spirit of the Coalition.
The Chicago Coalition for the Homeless is a non-profit that works to prevent and ultimately end homelessness.
