After the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Chicago Bulls, a locker room confrontation between Kendrick Perkins and Joakim Noah took place. According to ESPN on Dec. 21, Joakim Noah has dismissed the controversy as nothing and said Kendrick Perkins is "just an angry dude."
The altercation happened when Noah went into the Oklahoma City Thunder locker room after the game, breaking the un-written rule that members of the opposing teams should not enter their opponent's locker room on game days.
The fact that the Thunder beat the Bulls, and the two teams are not rivals, Kendrick Perkins is an old school player and follows many of these traditional rules. However, Perkins might have went over the line when he went off on an obscenity-laced tirade against Noah before he left the room.
One of the problems in this situation is that Thunder star Thabo Sefolosha had already visited the Chicago Bulls' locker room to visit with Noah. Sefolosha used to play for the Bulls and is friends with Noah. After that Noah repaid the visit and that is when Perkins went off on him.
When asked about the incident before the Bulls' game with the Cleveland Cavaliers tonight, he admitted he made a mistake but he's over it. He said that it is not that serious and that the explosion just happened because Perkins is an "angry dude" but he personally doesn't want to talk about it anymore.
Chicago Bulls' head coach Tom Thibodeau said he was not surprised because Kendrick Perkins acted like most veteran players will when a rival player walks into the other team's locker room uninvited.
