As the Polar Vortex strikes again with vengeance, fellow Chicagoans are drifting further into a literal state of hibernation. Local cafes and bakeries are the perfect refuges to experience life outside of one's living space, while escaping Chiberia’s negative temperatures and the massive onslaught of muck-filled slush.

Eli’s Cheesecake Company (Eli’s), a family-owned gourmet cheesecake and specialty dessert bakery on the northwest edge of Chicago, offered free hot chocolate to guests yesterday in their bakery café. Eli's is known nationwide for their delicious cheesecakes, but continues to serve the local Chicagoland community.
