The Chicago Auto Show, largest in North America opens to the public on Friday, February 10th at McCormick Place and continues through Sunday, February 19th. Imagine 1.2 million square feet of automotive technology: concept cars, family sedans, military, luxury and exotic sport vehicles. For over 104 years, Chicago’s Auto Show has been the longest running and best attended auto extravaganza.
Enjoy interactive displays (Build your own car at BMW.), live radio broadcasts, celebrity appearances, a climbing wall… You don’t have to imagine driving the car. Chevy, Ford, and Toyota added test tracks this year. To experience what you dare not try with your own vehicle, buckle up in a Jeep Wrangler and hold on tight as a professional driver navigates a specially designed obstacle course.
First Look for Charity on Friday, February 9th from 6:30 to 10:30 pm is a tuxedo required gala benefitting 18 local charities. For $250, you can check out the cars; enjoy live music, fine food and drink, as well as chance to win either a 2012 Cadillac Escalade or 2012 Cadillac SRX while doing good.
Show hours are 10 am – 10 pm February 10th thru 18th and 10am – 8 pm on Sunday, February, 19th. Tickets (regular price $11 for adults; $7 for children age 7-12 and seniors 62 and above) are available on line at DriveChicago.com or at McCormick Place. Discount coupons for weekday attendance are available at local new car dealers, BP gas stations and or specially marked 2 liter Pepsi products.
Women’s Day, Wednesday, February 15th features special informative programs and $7 admission for ladies. Show patrons who bring 3 cans of food get a $7 admission coupon Wednesday thru Friday.
