Warmer weather, with more sunshine, is headed in our direction for the middle part of the week.
An upper level ridge over the region will have the clouds going up and over us throughout the day on Wednesday. A warm front is forecast to drag through the area early in the day. Southwest of that front highs were in the low 80s Tuesday afternoon. With lots of sunshine and a south/southeast wind at 10 mph we should see highs in the upper 70s to near 80 on Wednesday.
Thursday is expected to be another warm day with mainly sunny skies. We'll start to see more clouds late in the day as a cold front approaches northern Illinois. By Thursday evening we could start to see some showers and thunderstorms move into the region.
The best chance for wet weather looks like it will come overnight Thursday. As the front continues to press east scattered showers with a few thunderstorms will remain possible Friday morning. As high pressure builds in behind the front our skies should start to break late in the day Friday.
We'll be cooler, really right around average, this weekend with sunny skies expected both Saturday and Sunday.
