Chicago area weather forecast for Tuesday, May 18, 2010

It looks like we're in for another gray day, but we should start to see some improvements as we head toward mid-week.

A stubborn closed low should start to move slowly east during the day Tuesday.  On the pessimistic side we'll watch for cloudy skies, and a few showers or sprinkles into the afternoon.  We won't look for much of a warm up and with a north/northeast winds between 10-20 mph afternoon highs in the low 60s will seem even cooler.

High pressure will start to build into the region from the north Tuesday night.  We should see decreasing clouds heading into Wednesday and more sunshine will have our temperatures getting back up to around average.  Thursday looks mostly sunny and warmer, before the chance for showers and thunderstorms returns Thursday night into Friday.
