Regular viewers of "Saturday Night Live" will notice one face missing from the lineup this weekend.
That would be Naperville, Il. native Paul Brittain.
According to a few sources including Entertainment Weekly, the move is "immediate."
When contacted by EW, a source close to the comedian, said the move was "amicable." Brittain was only in his second season as a featured player. He was known for his impressions of James Franco, Harry Reid and Johnny Depp.
Here is an item from his bio on NBC.com. It makes no mention of the departure. They note: Brittain is a veteran of the iO Theater in Chicago where he performed with numerous improv and sketch groups, including Rattlesnake High School, Topaz, and The Late Night Late Show. He co-wrote the sketch show in which he starred, "Ted and Melanie." At iO (Improv Olympics), he also created and performed a one-man show, "Sex Ed with 'Sex' Ed Vincent," which he performed at the Chicago Sketchfest, Los Angeles Comedy Festival, and TBS' Just For Laughs Festival.
As noted earlier, Brittain is originally from Naperville. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He will celebrate a birthday later this month on Feb. 16.
