It is no secret to users in Chicago and other parts of the country that ATT service on the iPhone is not always good. And now ATT is trying to address the issue with an app to allow us to report when we have issues. It is called "Mark the Spot" and it available right now in the App store for free.
It seems useful, although at first I was wondering like someone posted in the comments of the iTunes store how was this going to be useful if you had no signal? But you can also use it once your signal returns and pinpoint a location of the drop using a map.
I just used it to report an area around here in Hyde Park by the Armory that constantly drops my call when I drive by. Its very easy to use and shows you both the Latitude and Longitude of the location as well as the address. If you are not certain, you can also flip over to the Satellite view and find the location visually. And if you want to submit a comment with your report you can click the "Additional Info" button and do so.
After submitting the report you get a text message that says "AT&T Free Msg: Thank you for reporting your issue. This will be extremely valuable as we continue to enhance our network and improve your experience." I sure hope so.
