"The Chicago Air and Water Show—A History of Wings above the Waves" (by Gerry and Janet Souter, published by History Press, Charleston, S.C.) is out and available in stores.

Stories dating back to 1911 include: The wind shift that soaked a Chicago mayor; the illegally parked car that got dumped in the lake; the god who rose from the Chicago River year after year clutching his trident; the comedian who took a dare and jumped out of a perfectly good airplane. These tales and many more add to the excitement of this year’s Air and Water show.

On August 14 and 15 they’ll be at the Air and Water Show all day to sign books and greet fellow aviation enthusiasts
