On January 2, 2013, the Chicago/ Midwest Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association announced the breakfast forum for 150 professionals in the corporate renewal, finance, legal and business services industries.

Speakers Include:

Matt Miller: editor-at-large of The Deal, will serve as moderator. Miller has more than 25 years in business journalism with much of his time based in Asia for the Wall Street Journal. He has written feature stories investigating the successes and struggles of major metropolitan areas like Cleveland, Philadelphia, Milwaukee, San Diego and Boston, and covered the bankruptcies of Catholic dioceses around the country.

Brendan Carroll: is co-founder and partner at Victory Park Capital, an alternative investment management firm established in June 2007. Carroll is primarily responsible for sourcing private debt and equity investment opportunities, including assisting portfolio companies with strategic initiatives. Brendan manages the sourcing professionals as well as fundraising and investor relations.

Scott Lang: managing director at City Capital Advisors LLC since 2007. Prior to City Capital, Lang was the co-founder and CEO of Brown Gibbons Lang & Company for 10 years. A graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School, Scott brings a wealth of experience to the panel with over 40 years in the trenches. He has been named Entrepreneur of the Year, Deal Maker of the Year and received the Large Transaction of the Year award from the TMA in 2009.

Fred Tannenbaum: managing partner, Gould & Ratner LLP, recognized by the Illinois Venture Capital Association as a leading expert on private equity and venture capital; by a national bar association organization as a leading authority on mergers and acquisitions and by leading business publications as a top expert on family-owned businesses.

Jeremy VanDerMeid: senior vice president and portfolio manager of Monroe Capital LLC. VanDerMeid manages Monroe’s structured investment business, secondary trading and originating club investment transactions. Prior to Monroe, he worked as a vice president for Morgan Stanley Investment Management in the Van Kampen Asset Management Group; Dymas Capital and Heller Financial where he originated, underwrote, and managed various cash-flow and asset-based middle-market debt transactions.
