Jack, a 12 year old South Bay local and leukemia survivor, will be presenting a four course dinner of comfort recipes from his award-winning book, Twist it Up.
The book shares Jack’s 60 favorite comfort food recipes, all of which he puts his own twist on. Recipes are kid tested – by Jack and his brother – and family approved.
In December 2012, Jack was notified that his book had been awarded a top prize at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards in France, in which 102 countries submit over a thousand books for competition.
Chef Robert Bell and co-owner Michael Franks of Chez Mélange in Redondo Beach have watched Jack grow up over the years, hone his cooking skills and develop his tastes.
The menu will feature Caesar lettuce wraps, eggplant parmesan, pot roast with mac & cheese and a baked apple.
Reservations are now being taken and the cost is $45 per person.
Copies of his book will be on sale, proceeds of which go to Jack’s endowment and the Beckstrand Cancer Foundation.
If you would like to reserve a table or if you have any questions regarding the event, please contact Michael Franks at 310-540-1222.
Chez Mélange is located at 1611 South Catalina Avenue in Redondo Beach.
