Recently General Motors has announced the pricing for the Chevy Camaro ZL1. The ultra performance version Camaro will hit dealers with a price tag of $54,995! Honestly when I found out about the price I was shocked. I thought it might be priced alongside the Corvette Z06 but I am happy to see it is right in the price range of a standard Corvette model.
For what you get with this car $54,995 is an amazingly good price in my opinion. even being the Corvette die hard that I am, I would have to say I’d take a ZL1 over a standard Corvette... maybe even over a Grand Sport.
With the ZL1 you get a supercharged 6.2L engine that is SAE-rated at 580 HP and 556 lb.-ft. of torque. The engine contains a roots style blower, four lobe rotor set and a compact intercooler. With this power the ZL1 is able to accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 3.9 seconds.
The ZL1 also offers the driver a choice of either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. The exhaust is a dual mode system that contains vacuum actuated valves allowing the pipes to flow freely during performance yet keep a good sound during a leisurely drive.
Other goodies you will get for the price of $54,995 include performance traction management, magnetic ride control, standard leather seating surfaces with suede microfiber inserts and heated front seats, powered-adjustable front seats, USB and Bluetooth connectivity, rear-park assist with a rear-view camera and much more.
