Since its release in January ’13, the all-new seventh-gen (C7) Corvette has established new levels of performance, all the while grabbing headlines and awards for its sexy and sleek design. The C7 has also brought the return of the famous Stingray nameplate. Powered by an LT1 6.2 liter, it is the first-ever pushrod V8 to utilize Direct Injection (DI). Even more remarkable is, with the LT1’s claimed 450hp, the Corvette Stingray still manages to get an estimated 30mpg (up from 26mpg).

Like its race-track cousin, the ’14 Chevrolet Silverado is all-new, inside and out, and can deliver the goods. Most important, it still is GM’s best-selling vehicle. Towing and payload capability are important factors for truck owners, and the Silverado makes due with plenty of efficient engine options. A 4.3 liter V6 can tow up to 7600 pounds and retain 24mpg. The 5.3 liter V8 is rated at 23mpg (highway with 2WD), better than any competing truck (even V6) in that segment. A 6.2 liter is also available that can handle up to 12,000 pounds.

As icing on the cake, Cars.com named the '14 Silverado Best Truck of 2014 along with the all-new Impala named Best Car of 2014.
