Brian's exclusive forecast for Annapolis: Isolated thundershowers this evening will give way to a mostly cloudy and muggy overnight with a low near 70. On Wednesday we can expect warm and humid conditions with afternoon thunderstorms possible and a high of 90 degrees. Evening showers give way to scattered clouds overnight with a low near 70 by Thursday morning. Winds shift to the west at 10 mph. Mostly sunny and slightly less humid on Thursday, but it will still be warm with a high of 87 degrees.
Muggy conditions are expected tonight with areas of cloudiness and a slight risk of a thundershower. On Wednesday a series of shortwave troughs will provide just enough instability in the atmosphere to ignite scattered showers and thunderstorms, especially during the afternoon hours. At the same time, a cold front will approach the bay region and move from west to east across the bay overnight and into the early morning hours on Thursday. Highs on Wednesday will climb through the upper 80s and perhaps touch 90 degrees, particularly a few miles inland from the bay. In the wake of the frontal passage, we can expect slightly drier air to overspread the area on Thursday and Friday, but it will be quite warm with highs each day in the mid to upper 80s. Lows on Thursday and Friday mornings will settle into the middle 60s. The drier air both days should inhibit the development of thunderstorms.
On the Maryland portion of Chesapeake Bay, there are no advisories currently in effect. Winds through Wednesday will come out of the west at less than 10 knots with waves of one foot or less, and then shift to the north later Wednesday evening. However, isolated thundershowers may reduce visibilities and produce gusty winds. Marine weather information is provided only as a guide. Boaters should always stay tuned to the latest forecasts and advisories from the National Weather Service.
