Cheryl Burke is dropping pounds, and she was not even overweight to begin with. The dancer who has been a part of "Dancing with the Stars" on ABC since almost the very beginning of the reality series is now sharing how she managed to drop 15 extra pounds, and she did not lose that weight on the dance floor either. This was in addition to the weight she loses during her time dancing and training a celebrity on the dance floor. People Magazine shared a new photo of the reality star as a part of their "Most Talked About Bodies" special issue, and the photo shows just how great the dancer looks. The bikini hides nothing.
Cheryl Burke not only showed off her body, but she also shared her weight loss secrets. Maybe others can learned from Cheryl and lose those few stubborn extra pounds. She had help losing these 15 pounds. She made a new friend last season. That new friend was Leah Remini. She was a contestant in the season that aired last fall on ABC, and she only lives a few blocks away from Burke. This allowed them to help each other to stay in shape.
Burke and Remini worked with a personal trainer, and she also focused on portion control. She still ate the foods she wanted, but she ate them in smaller quantities. Burke described her new workout regimen as follows: "We'll run a mile on the treadmill, then get off and do biceps, triceps, squats, and repeat that about three times. Then we'll do abs towards the end. It shocks your body more than if you were just on a treadmill for three miles."
Cheryl Burke, who is now 30, realized that her age means that she needs to work more to keep in shape. When she started on "Dancing with the Stars" on ABC, it was 10 years ago. She won the championship with Drew Lachey during season two, and she has won the championship since then as well. Cheryl is definitely willing to put in the work to keep in shape. She is one of the hardest working of the professional dancers on the reality series. She pushes her partners to do their best. It only makes sense that she would do the same with her own goals. She went from 135 pounds to 120 pounds before season 18 of the reality series began.
This summer, fans can see Cheryl with some of her fellow professionial dancers from "Dancing with the Stars." She is currently scheduled to perform on two dates for "Ballroom with a Twist." No word yet on season 19 of the reality series. Fans should expect some changes with the possible retirement of Len Goodman. She is scheduled to appear on July 19 and on a pair of dates in August as well.
