Cheryl Burke lost 15 pounds after making some "lifestyle changes" according to People Magazine. The Dancing with the Stars pro says that she is used to losing some weight during the season of the show -- and that's to be expected. These dancers are on their feet and constantly moving for hours each and every day while training the "stars" how to ballroom dance. However, the usual five to seven pounds that Burke had been losing wasn't really enough to get her where she wanted to be weight-wise.
According to the report, Burke needed to exercise while she wasn't on the show in order to really keep the weight off. She managed to keep herself moving by having a workout buddy -- actress (and former DWTS contestant, Leah Remini).
Cheryl Burke saw pounds come off when she got into a groove. Of her relationship with Remini she says:
"We really bonded. She lives down the street from me so we're able to get up in the morning and work out together. When you have a buddy to work out with, you don't want to flake on that person."
When Burke isn't able to work out with Remini, she has been switching up her routine with a personal trainer:
"We'll run a mile on the treadmill, then get off and do biceps, triceps, squats, and repeat that about three times. Then we'll do abs towards the end. It shocks your body more than if you were just on a treadmill for three miles."
Cheryl Burke knows that keeping the pounds off means more than just exercising so many weeks out of the year. She has worked hard to get her body in the best physical shape and she feels really good about her figure, which is really what matters the most.
