Her story is garnering loads of attention because the man she dated was none other than Scientologist Tom Cruise. Cher, 66, supposedly dated Tom way back in 1986, according to the Digital Times today. Cher even revealed to Oprah Winfrey that her relationship with Cruise was, “a long date - really. I lived in his apartment”.
In a story that’s making rounds today, all about odd celebrity couples, Cher and Tom Cruise are one duo that’s standing out. Cher apparently dated Cruise, who’s 16 years younger, shortly after he gained notoriety for his break out role in “Risky Business”.
The “I Got You Babe” half of the legendary duo of Sonny & Cher opened up about her brief relationship with Tom Cruise to “ET”, saying, “It was a long, long time ago and neither one of us ever talked about it and I don't know why.
“When we were together he was such a private person. He always has been until lately. He didn't mention it and I didn't mention it”, she said. Cher revealed that the two met at a White House event in the mid-80s.
