Logo’s NewNowNext reported today that Cher has made a second video for her new single “Woman’s World.” This video was produced by Logo on an official commission from the iconic singer and stars the ladies of the network’s “RuPaul’s Drag Race.” Each of the featured drag queens appears dressed in one of Cher’s famous outfits. Cher does not appear, but this new clip is bound to help sales of her album “Closer to the Truth” when it is released at the end of the month.
Manila told Logo during the shoot that, “Cher is like a drag queen without a *****.”
The original video for Cher’s “Woman’s World” starred a cadre of every day looking women having thirds of their bodies being swapped with the 67-year-old diva’s.
In this new take each drag queen from “RuPaul’s Drag Race” was tasked with recreating one of Cher’s most famous looks. Chad Michaels looks like he could be Cher and chose one of her most famous Academy Awards’ dresses. Shangela chose to recreate her look from the video for “If I Could Turn Back Time.” Willam appears dressed like Cher in “Half Breed” and Alyssa Edwards nailed the singer’s “Shoop Shoop (It’s In His Kiss)” look. Manila Lazon makes a very sickly looking Cher and did her best to mimic her appearance in the “Believe” video.
“Woman’s World” is available now and is the lead single off of Cher’s new album “Closer to the Truth.” This mark’s the icon’s first album of new material in 12 years. “Closer to the Truth” will be released on Sept. 30.
“RuPaul’s Drag Race” is one of cable’s hottest shows and airs on the Logo network. The sixth season of the show is expected to premier in Jan. 2014.
