Cher has garnered an astounding number of awards for music and acting, and now the cultural icon will take on reality television when she brings her incredible talent to “The Voice” for season five as the "Team Blake" guest mentor.
Blake Shelton announced on his Facebook page Sept. 9 that Cher will join "The Voice" as the "Team Blake" mentor when the Battle Rounds begin. Other "The Voice" mentors for the Battle Rouns will include Ed Sheeran for “Team Christina,” Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic for “Team Adam” and “Team Cee Lo” has scored Miguel as its guest mentor. "The Voice" season five premieres on NBC Sept. 23.
At the season finale of “The Voice” Season 4 in June, Cher performed “Woman’s World.” Backstage after the show Cher expressed interest in being a Battle Rounds advisor. The Grammy and Oscar-winning singer/actress and cultural icon thinks “The Voice” is an “amazing thing for [young] singers, and she would have auditioned if “The Voice” had been around when she started out her career as half of the duo “Sonny and Cher.”
