Chelsea Handler quit because she was tired of Justin Bieber and Kim Kardashian

Chelsea Handler just couldn't take talking about the shenanigans of Justin Bieber and Kim Kardashian anymore. In an interview with Mail Online, posted on Tuesday, June 10, the outspoken talk show host said that she quit "Chelsea Lately" because she got tired of whining about and making fun of celebrities.

It seems that the show's concentration on celebrities and celebrity news was something that Chelsea never actually liked. Despite having had Justin Bieber and the Kardashians on as guests, with Khloe Kardashian even serving as a guest host once, Chelsea is just not into them. She explained to Mail Online that she couldn't bring herself to talk about them anymore and the only thing she could do was quit the show.

"To be quite honest I don't really care about Justin Bieber and I don't want to talk about him anymore...You can sit around and complain about all that s**t and the Kardashians all day but if you're participating in it then what can you do? It really didn't feel great doing the show and the only way to sort things out was to extricate myself from the entire situation," she said.

During her interview, Chelsea also revealed that the rumors of her replacing Craig Ferguson on the "Late Late Show" are false. She is, however, doing a new project that she's really excited about and which the public will know about in two weeks time. She said that she now wants to interview people who really matter and who will educate her, such as politicians, inventors and media professionals.

"Chelsea Lately" airs on E!, the same channel that broadcasts "Keeping up with the Kardashians" and the various Kardashian spin-off shows. Clearly, now that Chelsea is leaving, she isn't afraid of offending the stars of one of E!'s biggest shows.

Chelsea Handler announced in late May that she will be leaving her talk show in August. There was speculation weeks earlier that she was leaving the network when it was revealed that she was not invited to the NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment upfronts in New York City. It was a good thing that she didn't go, since two of the people whom she now admits she hates talking about, Khloe and Kim Kardashian, were there.
