Chelsea Clinton was left out of White House fun

Like a modern-day Cinderella, Chelsea Clinton was rarely included in the White House parties during her father's eight years as president. According to a March 17 report on NY Daily, Chelsea Clinton described her teen years as the daughter of President Bill Clinton as very normal in many ways, thanks to her parents' efforts in that area. She was accustomed to dinners at the kitchen table and evenings filled with attention to homework.

The 34-year-old Clinton sat down with Marlo Thomas on Monday during which time she did admit she was always aware that she was "living in history" despite her otherwise almost-normal routine. Her parents were adamant that her school work was her primary attention. Surprisingly, she remembers attending only two White House State Dinners and the annual Christmas parties. She was allowed to attend a few musical concerts occasionally.

Maybe all that will change if her mother is elected in 2016. A quick re-reading of the article leads the reader to wonder if the whole purpose of the interview was not to cast an aura of middle-class family on the prospective candidate Hillary Clinton.
