Chelsea Clinton announced on Friday that she is quitting her job at NBC, sparking a flurry of rumors that she quit because her mother, Hillary Clinton will be running for president in 2016. Bill and Hillary Clinton's daughter, who has worked as a reporter at NBC since 2011, issued a statement on Facebook about her departure, but did not mention her mother's possible candidacy.

"I am grateful NBC gave me the opportunity to continue this important legacy," Clinton wrote in her August 29 Facebook post. "To continue focusing on my work at the Clinton Foundation and as Marc and I look forward to welcoming our first child, I have decided to leave my position as a NBC Special Correspondent."

Clinton was earning a cool $600,000 a year with NBC, initially hired to do reporting for Brian Williams' show, "Rock Center." The show was canceled, but Clinton continued to appear on various NBC News shows, including the "Nightly News."

In her Facebook post, Clinton did not rule out returning to NBC in the future, leading many to believe that she's taking a break not only to give birth to her first child, but to avoid what states is "political awkwardness for the network" if Hillary funs for president in the 2016 election.

Do you think the reason behind Chelsea Clinton's departure from NBC is a political move?
