Brassy-mouthed chef Gordon Ramsay has never fit the mold of the prototypical reserved Englishman. His brick-oven-hot tongue was in splendid blistering form recently during an interview for April's edition of Men's Journal Magazine:
“...I can still look at a box of raw ingredients and put together the best f**king dish you'll ever eat. That's why I laugh when they say, 'Let's see if he's a real chef. Let's get him up against Bobby Flay on 'Iron Chef.' I'm like, f**king do me a favor...come on. I've forgotten more than he's known!”
Bobby Flay was not the only industry notable to get skewered.
“I once asked Cat Cora from the Food Network to appear on 'Master Chef,' which sometimes pits amateur chefs against pros. They were to prepare a Cat Cora dish, and obviously she was never going to lose, but she and her agents insisted that, even if her dish wasn't the best, she'd win. 'Damage limitation: She needs to know she's going to win.' I said, 'Look, there's no f****** way I'm ever going to allow that. No way. Over my dead body.' I was so pissed off."
Ramsay poaches restaurant critic (and openly gay) Frank Bruni, who penned a tepid two-star review about Gordon Ramsay at the London NYC, the chef's first U.S. venture:
"Frank Bruni f**ked me sideways, but the fascinating thing about that, I knew he had the hots for my French maître d'. But I mean, what's Frank Bruni doing now? Tweeting about the government? I piss myself. I wish him the very best."
Ramsay does exhibit a bit more humbled respect for his wife Tana, who's remained devoted despite past rumors of an affair:
"She's a nut crusher. If I ever f**ked up, she'd have my balls in a vise and turn them into a f**king crêpe suzette thinner than the frilliest knickers Paris Hilton's ever worn. She'd turn my ballbag into a doily."
And it seems Ramsay's latest declarations have found some attention. This morning, at the crack of dawn, Bobby Flay responded to the chef via Twitter:
“ @gordonramsay01...disappointed but noted. Let's settle this like men, in the kitchen! No words, just knives. Show up or shut up."
