Cheesy ranch sesame bread is easy to make, even easier to eat!

This quick and easy, rich and cheesy bread is based on a recipe I remembered from my childhood and found in my mom’s handwritten recipe book. I used Ranch dressing mix instead of onion soup mix and added way more extra sharp cheddar (because there’s no such thing as too much cheese). It went great with Clay’s lemon chicken, but its savory, crumbly deliciousness would complement just about any entrée or make a mouth-watering appetizer at your next party.

Cheesy Ranch Sesame Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 ½ cups Bisquick
  • 1 cup extra sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 pkg. Ranch Dressing mix
  • 1 Tbl. sesame seeds
  • 2 Tbl. grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 Tbl. melted butter
  • 1 to 2 tsp. olive oil

Putting it all together

Preheat the oven to 400˚. In a large mixing bowl, combine the egg and milk. Use a fork to mix in the Bisquick, cheese, and Ranch Dressing mix. Grease the bottom and sides of a pie pan (glass or metal) with the olive oil. Evenly spread the dough into the pan so it’s just touching the sides. Sprinkle the sesame seeds and Parmesan cheese and drizzle the butter over the top (yes, “over the top” fits this recipe well). Bake on the center rack for 20 to 25 minutes. Cool slightly, cut in wedges, and serve. Yum!
