The Sustainable Fashion Collaborative "is a community of designers, retailers, consumers and thought-leaders that aims to initiate the conversation about ethical fashion and what it means to be a socially-responsible brand, as well as a conscious consumer."
The event showcased a number of novel designs by a host of designers, each accompanied by eco-conscious messages intended to aid attendees with understanding the implications of eco-design on our world. Designers, who included GeorgAnnette Chatterly, Lallitara, Amy Plante, Ellen Shea, Avni Trivedi, Carlos Villamil, and MULXIPLY.
Attendee Yuly Fuentes-Medel, a Postdoctoral Associate at MIT, said the event "was a combination of amazing people and creativity. As a scientist, I was impressed by the details and innovation in each project. It is exciting to count with this community in the city of Boston."
Notable attendees of the event included scientist Yuly Fuentes, artist Juan Pedro del Moral, teacher Laura Bravo, model Janelle Kennedy, real estate developer Marcia Green, and model Zoe Peters.
Eco-consciousness is pervading every facet of our civilization and it is timely that it impacting fashion, too.
