Cheers to Ron's Original Bar & Grille: Chester County's very own 'Cheers' (Photos)

Yes, it is a place where everybody knows your name. Yet, even if you're a newbie, you'll feel at home in a heartbeat. Certainly, the three dining rooms at Ron's are warm and welcoming, and a favorite for families. But, the bar part of Ron's Original Bar & Grille in Exton is rich with rustic, antique character, and bubbles over with conversation and conviviality.

That's just the way owner, Ron Inverso, intended it to be when he opened this bar in 2008.

"I wanted to create a niche; a place where local people feel like they belong," he says.

Couple that with his passion for authentic, made-from-scratch Italian food at wallet-pleasing prices, and Ron's loyalty from locals is no surprise. Neither are all the awards received.

Ron is also a big booster of 'healthy.' All-natural beef, and local poultry; and organic, never frozen veggies. All his stocks and sauces are homemade daily. Ditto for his dressings. His pasta comes fresh from Italian old masters in the region, like Springfield Pasta.

Even gluten-free beer and organic wine are served here along with miles of smiles.

Not only has this man created a local Italian-flavored hot spot, but also something else you won't find anywhere else. It's called an 'Oval,' a happy mistake turned best seller.

"I was making mini-stromboli, and one of them opened up in the oven," he remembers. "It looked like an open-faced stromboli, all the filling baked on top of this oval-shaped crust."

People literally eat them up with toppings that range from lean, imported ham and cheese to the 'No Holds Barred' with bacon, pepperoni, steak, cheddar and mozzarella.

Ron's full menu is thick as a book, and covers too much to cover here. (Best click 'menu'.)

As to libation, Ron's was one of the first to carry craft beers, and you'll find a lengthy line-up here - both in-house and in the convenient beer cooler in their take-out area.

By the way, there's another Ron's original here. It's an elk head mounted on the barroom wall. His name is Conover. He was named after Ron's longest-time employee, Don Conover. He's Irish.

Cheers!
