Cheerleader stretcher: Cheerleader hospitalized after falling on head

An Atlanta Hawks cheerleader found herself on a stretcher on Monday after a routine gone awry landed the fit dancer in the hospital.

According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Kristen was released from the hospital after being seen by doctors.

“Our best wishes are with the cheerleader who had the incident on the court,” coach Larry Drew said to start his post game press conference. “She is doing well, from what I’m told. We are hoping that she is OK and are keeping things in perspective.”

The cheerleader, named Kristen (her last name has not been released), was dancing in unison with her fellow cheerleaders when the accident happened. The accident was also broadcast on television.

While you might think that Kristen got injured by being thrown in the air, that’s not the case. In fact, Kristen merely attempted to twirl her body 360 degrees but somehow lost her footing and slammed her head hard into the court.

Paramedics were rushed to the scene to attend to Kristen, and she was carried off on a stretcher and brought to the hospital.
