'Cheer Perfection' drug arrest: RD Dunlap, Ryan Dahl face charges

Cheer Perfection” may not be on the air right now, but the show's stars are making headlines. On Jan. 15 TMZ reported that Cheer Time Revolution co-owner Ronald (RD) Dunlap has been arrested.

Dunlap is in trouble for marijuana possession and drug paraphernalia possession. Cheer Time Revolution coach Ryan Dahl has also been arrested. Dahl does not appear in the “Cheer Perfection” episodes on TLC.

Police arrested Dunlap and Dahl Wednesday morning after they were found in Dahl's car, which reeked of marijuana. They apparently admitted they had been smoking pot and were arrested. A glass pipe was also found in the car.

TMZ reports that RD's wife, Alisha Dunlap, is very unhappy about the issue. The gym is said to have a zero tolerance drug policy, so both Ryan Dahl and Ronald Dunlap are suspended from doing anything with Cheer Time Revolution for now. This may have not only legal ramifications for both men, but business ramifications for the Dunlaps and their popular training facility.

TLC has yet to officially renew or cancel “Cheer Perfection” for season 3. While Tuesday's news that a “Cheer Perfection” mom arrest could be worked around, this arrest news involving JD Dunlap may well spell doom for the show. Stay tuned for more details on both the legal issues and renewal wait on the popular TLC show.
