Here are some more double-duty beauty products to keep on hand! Check out how some of these basic beauty products can be used for multiple purposes.
Flat iron doubles as a clothes iron? We all know that flat irons can work wonders on even the most curly or unruly head of hair. But, did you also know a flat iron can also serve as a handy and more compact clothes iron? If you're in a rush and your shirt is a bit more wrinkled than you like, lightly "press" your shirt or blouse to perfection with a flat iron. It takes less time since it's already heated from using it on your hair, and no one will ever know the difference.
Toothpaste will not only keep your teeth, mouth and breath fresh and clean, it will also zap that zit! Toothpaste was invented to thoroughly clean teeth and gums, but you can also keep breath minty fresh by brushing your tongue during your daily brushing routine. And if you use a toothpaste that helps whiten, you can also keep your teeth sparkly clean and white. What many people don't know, is that while toothpaste may act as a cleaner for your teeth and mouth, it can also double as a drying agent for unwanted pimples. Simply dab a little bit of toothpaste on your pimple before you go to bed, let it set and help dry up that pimple overnight!
Match your lipstick and rouge. Do you have a lipstick shade that you love more than any other? Why not use it as not only your lip color, but also your rouge color. This is an longtime beauty tip that I recall my grandmother teaching me when I was a little girl. Simply dab a little bit of your favorite lipstick onto the end of finger, apply it to the apples of both cheeks and blend, using smaller, circular motions. Powder blush can also double as an eyeshadow or highlighter. If you're in a hurry and don't have time to apply eyeshadow, or you simply want a more natural look for the daytime, use your blush brush and apply your powder blush to your eyelid, crease and brow. It will match your blush color of the day and give a unified, healthy and glowing make up look.
Clear nail polish can be used for so many things. First and foremost, a clear nail polish should always be applied to the nails before any colored nail polish. This helps darker nail polish colors from staining the nail bed. Applying a clear nail polish before colored polish, also helps polish to adhere better to your nail and gives it more of a staying power, helping prevent nail polish chips and peeling. It is also good to get in the habit of applying a clear nail polish as a top coat, to help seal your nail color and give it the ultimate staying power. Clear nail polish can also be used to stop runs or holes in nylons, pantyhose and tights from getting any bigger or worse, and if you have any nicks or chips in any of your wood furniture pieces, brush in a little clear nail polish to coat the nick or chip to prevent it from getting worse.
Cotton balls are the ultimate, multipurpose product! They can be used to apply facial toner or astringent, and they can be used with makeup removers for the face and the eyes. Did you accidentally put on too much blush or eyeshadow? Take a cotton ball and sweep it across your skin and remove an excess makeup. If you have an earache, stick a piece of a cotton ball in your ear to help alleviate the pain. Do you wear heels or another type of uncomfortable shoe on a regular basis? Pad your shoes with cotton balls! It will provide temporary comfort to your feet and also will keep your foot's skin from rubbing on your shoe, causing a blister.
