When Tony Jaa burst onto the American film scene with 2003s Ong-bak the martial arts film world changed forever. With his follow-up film 2005s Tom yum goong aka The Protector he kept the standards intact all while stepping things up. Now he is returning to that series with the aptly titled Tom yum goong 2 aka The Protector 2.

In the film Boss Suchart is the influential owner of a major elephant camp who is murdered in his own home by a killer who delivered three fatal blows on his body. Kham, who was present at the crime scene, was seen with him before he died is forced on the run from the police as well as Suchart’s twin nieces out for revenge all while trying to search for his elephant whose disappearance is involved in the murder as well. As if these weren’t all enough to deal with, he is forced into an underground fighting ring run by a crime lord who’s obsessed with collecting top-class martial artists from around the world.

Besides Jaa the film also stars RZA, Mum Jokmok, Marrese Crump, Wismitanan, Ratha Pho-ngam, Kazu Patric Tang, Kalp Hongratanaporn, David Ismalone and Chocolate star Jija Yanin.

The film will hit iTunes/On Demand March 27, 2014 and in theaters May 2, 2014, but you can check out the all-new poster here now.
