Join a group of health and fitness minded people for Oct-KNOW-ber. It's a month long challenge to share with others what you know and have learned about specific subjects. The event can be found on the Sprout Nourishment Facebook page. The event details are as follows.
This month is all about learning new health and fitness information and sharing what you KNOW with your friends. Therefore, we declare this to be oct-KNOW-ber. It's a workout for your brain.
The challenge this month will be to find, read, and share helpful health and fitness information. Each week will have a topic. Your goal is to find an article, study, news story, image, or other information that you can share. Place a link on this event site to share with all the participants. You can also forward your findings to friends and family outside this group.
Week 1 (1st-7th) : Learn about a specific vitamin or mineral. Share why your bodies needs it, how much you need, what foods contain it, if there are any risks with taking a supplement, or any other related information.
Week 2 (8th-14th) : Learn a new exercise or fitness class. Take part in a new group fitness class at your gym, learn how to do a new exercise, learn the proper form of an exercise you may be doing wrong, or try some new sport. Let us know what your experiences are, and share any information you read about how beneficial the activity is.
Week 3 (15th-21st): Read about or talk to someone about why they follow certain diet plans. Some options include gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, vegan, vegetarian, organic, paleo, atkins, and several other options. Share their reasons and anything you learned.
Week 4 (22nd-31st) : Find some interesting story, article, or study about health and fitness trends or issues within the US (or your home country). Let the group know what you found out and your thoughts on the topic.
As always, this is an open event. Feel free to add others that may be interested, or remove yourself if you're not up for the challenge. Let us know any feedback you have.
