When you see a film titled “Big Ass Spider!,” it just automatically begs to be watched. And the first three minutes, which can be viewed in the clip above, indicate that it will certainly be one goofy and fun movie.

Big Ass Spider!” is in the same vein as “Tremors” and other monster movie homages. It tells the story of a failed experiment that results in, you guessed it, a big ass spider – 100 feet tall, to be precise. It escapes from its laboratory and starts creating havoc in Los Angeles. The military calls in exterminator Alex Mathis (Greg Grunberg) and his sidekick, Jose Ramos (Lombardo Boyar) to take out the creature before the whole city is destroyed.

Also starring Ray Wise and Clare Kramer, as well as plenty of cameos, the “Big Ass Spider!” DVD comes with plenty of special features, including interviews with the cast; TV spots; a SXSW featurette; and a whole lot more. Epic Pictures will be releasing the film to DVD on Jan. 7, 2014
