Looking for a last minute Christmas gift? Have you tried looking for something old or collectible for that hard to buy for loved one? Think antiques and if you live in Central Illinois you might try the Clinton Antique Mall. This antique mall owned by Marilyn North has been in business for over two decades and is located just north of Springfield’s Land of Lincoln at the Junction of Highway 51 and 54.
North shared that this year the Clinton Antique will celebrate their 24th anniversary. When she opened in 1990, Marilyn said, “Antique malls were really a new thing.”
With over 100 dealers filling the 16,000 square foot mall Marilyn North said, “There is still a waiting list to get in.”
There is something for everyone this holiday season. The Clinton Antique Mall features quality furniture, primitives, vintage clothing, lamps, quilts, glass, china, coins, many types of collectibles, quilts, trunks, toys, books, granite ware, crocks, crystal, and much more. Along with the usual items, there are some unusual things as well like the vendor that offers fossils and rocks. Another has candlewick glassware and one vendor has a selection of taxidermy displays with ducks, rabbits and other animals in a scenic setting! “No matter what you are looking for, you can find it here,” Marilyn said.
Clinton is a historic destination. When touring in the Springfield, Illinois area, include Clinton in your stops. Clinton is the County Seat of DeWitt County and there are several other wonderful stops like the C.H. Moore Homestead to make a drive there worthwhile. The Clinton Antique Mall is located at 1439 Illinois 54, Clinton, IL 61727 and the phone number is (217) 935-8846. They are open Monday – Saturday 10-5 and Sunday 11-5. Happy shopping!
