America is fascinated with spirits. One of the first questions asked by many Arizona travelers arriving at a hotel or bed and breakfast is, “Do you have a ghost?” Now viewers can check into some of the most haunted hotels in the world from the comfort of their easy chair.

“Two million hotel rooms are occupied every night in America, so it's no wonder that some of the most mysterious, captivating and downright strange stories have occurred in hotels.” Travel Channel’s “Hotel Secrets & Legends” takes you on a new adventure each week where you can learn the mysteries hidden in the hallways of these hotels.

Some of the most mysterious events and strange stories of America’s history have taken place in and around hotels and inns.

Visit the Culver Hotel in California and learn the tales of the little people who starred in the Wizard of Oz. Learn about the Gilpatrick Hotel in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where Theodore Roosevelt nearly murdered in 1912. The Little Bohemia Lodge overlooks Little Star Lake and was the scene of a mobster shoot out in 1934 when John Dillinger came to hide from the law. Travel south to the Jekyll Island Club Hotel in Georgia where men came to rescue the United States economy in 1910.

All of these establishments are worth checking into, but remember when you do that you could be sharing a room with the spirit of a bygone traveler who has never checked out!
