Cheating has become an "epidemic"

Ever heard of spycheapstuff.com?

There's a good chance your teenager has.

With increasing pressure for students to perform for college admissions, cheating has become an art. Everything from inserting test answers into soft drink labels to texting each other pictures of the test, tech-savvy students are finding increasingly sophisticated ways to tamper with grades.

Spycheapstuff.com features tiny wireless earbuds used to phone a friend for answers during tests.  Even YouTube has a popular video with over 7 million hits titled "How to cheat on any test". The video contains step-by-step instructions on how to digitally alter the nutrition label on a soft drink bottle to contain answers.

Meanwhile, educators are on red alert. Vice Chancellor for technology and learning services at South Orange Community College District calls the trend an "epidemic of cheating".

A recent study has found that more than one in three teenagers between the ages 13 and 17 with cell phones have used their devices to cheat. More than half of those polled admitted to have cheated via the Internet.

What are your thoughts on cheating in schools in the past several years? Do you consider cheating to have become an "epidemic"?
