With the upcoming Labor Day weekend approaching, CheapOair just recently announced the most popular U.S. destinations. The findings were based on customer's purchasing habits over the past year. Although roundtrip airfares have increased significantly for domestic as well as international destinations, the data shows that Labor Day weekend deals can still be found.
The data shows a 34 percent increase in airfare to a majority of the country's top destinations. For instance, the airfare for the Labor Day weekend to Las Vegas, the country's most popular destination indicates a 24 percent increase. However, a roundtrip ticket is still a bargain at $345. On the other hand, airfares to major cities like New York and Orlando show an increase of only 4 percent, with flights averaging $271 and $333 accordingly.
Other major cities included in the data are Denver with the cost of a ticket at $257, an increase of only 3 percent, while a ticket to Chicago is $309, an increase of 15 percent.
